History
Hockey comes to the Uintah Basin
The sport of hockey started in the Basin in the early 90's. The community loved it so much they quickly built an outdoor rink on the grounds of Western Park. Ashley Valley Hockey officially formed a club and grew the program year by year. In the early 2000's Western Park moved it to an indoor facility and in 2023 approved a remodel to accommodate growth of the sport in the Basin. Some of the first hockey players in the Vernal have now become coaches in the club, teaching the love of the sport to the next generation.
The Mission
Our youth hockey program is dedicated to preparing children for the future. Our program will teach leadership skills, self-confidence, and team building, as well as many more life lessons. Learning these skills can help our children to become solid citizens and future leaders.
