Learn/House League 6U-14U

This season the Utah Mammoth is partnering with Ashley Valley Hockey for a new Learn to Play in house program.
House Teams are designed for players who are wanting to learn to skate, and learn to play hockey. AVAHA and Utah Mammoth want to offer an opportunity to all the youth in the community, who are interested in trying out the sport, but may not be ready for travel teams based on skill, high commitments and/or costs for the travel program. Our house teams do not travel outside of Vernal, Utah.
Thank you Utah Mammoth for helping so many players get gear!- Unfortunately their gear has a cap. ** if you have not registered yet you still can here. You can purchase gear on your own or rent from us. For more info on what we have for rentals please contact Brooke 435 621 4751

Frequently Asked Questions
What if my player can't skate?
Most people who are learning to play hockey have minimal skating experience. Our coaches are prepared to teach players the basics and help them advance. Western Park offers open skate times during the week, players are encouraged to use that time for extra practice.
How can I volunteer to help on my players team or with AVAHA?
AVAHA is always in need of great volunteers. Our hockey association would not happen if it wasn't for our volunteers. Coaching, managing, scorekeeping, board members, fundraising efforts are all areas of need. Please see our volunteer page for more information.
Why do I need a USA Hockey number?
USA Hockey provides catastrophic insurance coverage to its members, which is a significant benefit for players, their families, and the association. Ashley Valley Hockey is an affiliate of USA Hockey and because of this USA Hockey provides coaching resources as well as free SafeSport training to all volunteers to help insure players safety. If you are interested in more information about our AVAHA volunteers please see the link below.
What does my players registration fees cover?
Your players registration fees will cover the ice time necessary for 12 sessions of practices, as well as the ice time for any games or events. Hockey is growing more each year in the Basin. Because of this ice time is limited. Ice time costs are one of AVAHA's largest expenses to the club.
In House League
The house leagues will have two 6 week ice sessions. The first is a Learn to Play, and the second for those wishing to continue to play. The 12 ice sessions combine will be approximately November- February.
Days and Times: TBD
This registration will only cover ice fees. Rental gear is $25 and rental jerseys are $25.
All games and practices will be held at Western Park Ice Rink.
